When you Board and Train your dog, he comes to live at the dog training facility for a predetermined number of days. An average day for your dog would begin at 6:30 am with a walk and an opportunity to eliminate. Breakfast is served to your dog individually and an hour of rest is allowed for proper digestion. After his rest, your dog will get another chance to eliminate with a walk. Social dogs will be eligible to participate in our dog daycare program. Non-social dogs will be exercised individually with their dog trainer. Your dog will receive a minimum of two 1-hour long dog training sessions with their dog trainer, typically morning and evening. Your dog will receive several walks throughout the day. He will be fed again in the evening with the same hour of rest following for proper digestion. An evening exercise session gets your dog tired out and ready for bed. One more walk before lights out at 10pm.
Exercise sessions often include time on the treadmill to wear your dog out physically and mentally. It takes a lot of concentration for a dog to stay on the treadmill. We start out at ½ mile per hour and as your dog gets more comfortable and capable, the speed increases. Most dogs are able to run at 5 miles per hour by the time they finish their training. Other exercise sessions include fetch with a tennis ball, Frisbee toss, follow the leader, versions of soccer, baseball, and other sports.
Training sessions vary depending on the program you and your dog trainer have chosen for your dog, but all include some sort of dog obedience training and one on one time with your trainer.
